The fight in London led by young mothers demanding social housing not social cleansing

4.30pm Maestra
Cuba, 1961: 250,000 volunteers taught 700,000 people to read and write in one year. Maestra interviews the women involved in transforming society

5.20pm Leila Khaled: Hijacker
PFLP militant hijacked a plane in the fight for the liberation of Palestine; the film discussed the issues of women, solidarity and violence in the fight for freedom

Bangladesh: amongst factory collapses and union repression, women garment workers come together to organise for better working conditions, pay and justice

8pm Free Angela Davis and All Political Prisoners!
Communist revolutionary Angela Davis speaks about the actions that led to her imprisonment and the worldwide political movement for her freedom

Looks like a really interesting day to get everyone started.  I’m going to be heading down heading down around 1ish and staying for the piece on FOCUS 15 Mothers.
