First of all we would like to know how many people have volunteered to present their work in the OPEN CRITS scheduled next week. We should receive an email from the office with the participants’ names but it has not happened so far.
Activities of the week>
- BARTLETT DRAWING CLUB, Monday the 7th of March, from 19:30 to 21:30, in the Carpet area 212b. Model, materials, coach and tea for 5pounds…
- CROSS CRIT, YEAR4, 9:30am. Please prepare a clear presentation, going to the point and describing the research, design analysis and design evolution that has had an influence and is meaningful for your design. Bring as well key documents and models from term1 to place your proposal into the year context.
- WEDNESDAY TUTORIALS> YEAR 5, from 9:30 at 131 (140HR). Following Han’s list, but as 4th years have their Cross Crit the day before, only 5th years will need tutorials.
- INTERNATIONAL LECTURE SERIES> Jenny Sabin. 9 March | 18.30 – 20.00. Rm G02. 140 Hampstead Road, NW1 2BX. With strong links to the Sabin Design Lab at Cornell AAP, Jenny Sabin Studio LLC is an experimental architecture, design and art studio based in Philadelphia. The studio investigates the intersections of architecture and science, and applies insights and theories from biology and mathematics to the design, fabrication and production of material structures. We collaborate with scientists and engineers and employ architects, designers and artists. Our applied projects are diverse and operate across multiple length scales including adaptive materials, tapestries, rugs, installations, pavilions and architectural interventions. Our portfolio is equally diverse including clients such as Nike Inc., the American Philosophical Society Museum, the Exploratorium and the Frac Centre.
Next week the OPEN CRITS will be held so the tutorials will happen from 18:00 to 21:00 on the 16th for year4 group, and on the 17th for 5th years.
